Barcelona – Hotel Stay
Your holiday begins with a two night hotel stay in Barcelona, time to explore the highlights of this much-loved city. Explore the beautiful buildings created by Gaudi, including the famous Sagrada Familia and try some delicious tapas in one of the many Halal restaurants in the Gothic Quarter.
Barcelona – Embark MSC Seaview
Today you’ll embark MSC Seaview in Barcelona. This ship has been designed to connect you with the sea like no other cruise ship. Glass-floored catwalks, panoramic elevators and a waterfront boardwalk that circles the entire ship blur the lines between indoors and outdoors and offer fantastic sea views.
Corsica is one of France’s most wildly beautiful areas, an island off the coast with charming towns and a steep, forested interior. Its capital, Ajaccio, was the birthplace of Napoleon and there are numerous streets, squares and statues honouring him. Explore the old town with its pastel-coloured houses and upmarket shops and cafes, or take a walk along the sea front, lined with palm trees, towards the harbour.
Remnants of Genoa’s golden era can be seen as you wander around the winding streets of the old town or along Via Garibaldi, where palaces feature grandiose embellishments including frescoes and balconies. Modern Genoa has an impressive aquarium that features a tropical garden in a glass biosphere, built to commemorate the city’s most famous son, Christopher Columbus.
From here you can explore the beautiful Cinque Terre – five tiny fishing villages tucked way on a remote part of the Italian Riveria. Their perfectly-preserved pastel coloured buildings cling to the rugged coastline of the Italian Riviera and offer sweeping sea views. These small coastal communities seem almost completely cut off from the surrounding countryside which is overflowing with vineyards and olive groves.
From Civitavecchia, you can explore Rome’s ancient streets, where Byzantine mosaics grace church ceilings and cool catacombs slumber beneath your feet. In between chic cafés and serene statues on street corners, you’ll find treasures like the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, where a coin tossed into its shining waters promise a return to the eternal city.
This glamorous destination is perfect for people-watching, for you might spot a celebrity or two passing by. Take a stroll along the beach, admire the liner-sized yachts moored by the port and uncover the real beauty Cannes holds; the old quarter, stunning islands off the coast and peaceful gardens resplendent with fountains.
Palma de Mallorca
Palma is the island of Mallorca’s shining jewel. Walk the narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Town, visit the ancient Arab Baths or simply soak up the rays on the sun-drenched city beach. As day stretches into night, take a stroll along the Passeig d’es Born boulevard and see the honey-hued La Seu Cathedral bathed in the golden glow of the fading light, before heading to a tapas bar to enjoy plates of spicy albondigas, sizzling gambas al ajillo and patatas bravas.
